In most cases your digital camera will produce a picuter that will meet theses requirements and you can use directly one of those. Oterhwise you have to change the picture with a picutre manipulating program like GIMP, Photoshop, etc... Sometimes your digital camera comes which such a program. Consult the manual from your camera to find out more.

This view shows simply a street map

The format is street [optional], city, country

Explanation of all markers

It all starts with the start marker. Every track begins with it

The „waypoint-marker“ is probably the one most used. It is used to be placed on the map when there is no turn or other important place but to describe and measure your track as precise as possible.

The „straight marker“ symbolises important points when one should keep going straight on.

The „turn-marker“.

Please place the marker as if are just running the track. Imagine you are on the track and have to turn. Use the markers as if you would give someone directions.

The „round trip marker“

If your tracks ends at a certain point and will follow the same way back then use this marker for the end point. The track will be extended automatically and the distance of the track doubled. This makes life much easier so you don't have to do all the work again.

After setting this marker you will be forwarded to the page to save your new track.

The „stop-marker“

After placing the start marker on the map the Navigation-Disc will change automatically and will display the ;Stop-Button“ in the center.

Use this marker when you have finished placing all other points on the map and you have reached the end of your track.

Next save your new track or edit single markers.

This marker symbolises a supply point during official runs. YOu can set this marker only via the info-window while clicking on the marker itself

Upload von Daten aus Navigationsgeräten

This part might not be the most easiest one.
To use this functionality you will need a GPS enabled device.
The following programs (especially EasyGPS) supports various devices from various manufacturers. To publish a list of all manufacturers and their software will be too much for this page. I will focus on just a few.

First of all donwload one of the following programs:

Connect your GPS with a cable (USB or RS232) with your PC. Extrating and uploading tracks is described subsequently.

EasyGPS from Topografix

Note:
Every file that you generate should contain only one single track without waypoints.
Otherwise you may find that you cannot upload the generated file. Follow these instructions and I'm sure you will be successfull.

Search this icon after you started the program.

Click on in it and the following dialog will appear. Choose the option "Tracks" and press "ok".

The data from your device will now loaded into the software. It might take a few minutes depending from your connection and your device.

Depending from the number of tracks saved in your GPS device the tracks are now displayed in the right window. That looks similar to this picutre:

Delete all those tracks you don't want to upload to RunMyTrack.com by clicking with the Arrow (choose "Select" befor) on the track and mark it in this way (the track will appear yellow) and press "Del" on your keyboard or hit the right mouse button and choose "Delete Track".
Confirm that you really want to delete this track in the appearing dialog. Don't worry if you delte the track they are still saved in your GPS device.

At the end you should have just one track in your window like this picture shows:

No choose "Save as..." from the "File"-menu and choose a foldert to save the track.
Give the track a meaningful name and save it.

That's it! Now browse to Upload and upload this track to your existing ones on the web.

SportTracks from Zone5 Software This is a really fantastic piece of software! RunMyTrack.com recommends this wonderful free software!

Do get the data from your GPS press on "Import data"

Choose the source that holds the data. In my case it is a Garmin "Forerunner 201".

Click on "Next". Data are now imported from your device. This may take a few minutes.

In the next step the assistant asks you which data to import. The best advise is to simply click on import:

Finally you will get a success message that you have to confirm:

Done! All data are now imported. The advantage of SportTracks is that all your tracks are changed into single activities and the tracks are added just once to the activiy.

In the next step we need to export the track.
Choose under "Daily activity" the menu point "Export data":

You will find "GPs eXchange file (.GPX)" in the menu. Click on it and the known "Save as"-dialog will appear:

Choose a meaningful name for the file and save it to folder of your choice and in which you will find the file again.

That's it! Now browse to Upload and upload this track to your existing ones on the web.

Garmin Trainingscenter The Garmin TrainingsCenter is the standard program for all users with a Garmin device like the ones from the "Forerunner"-series.

Note:
Every file that you generate should contain only one single track without waypoints.
Otherwise you may find that you cannot upload the generated file. Follow these instructions and I'm sure you will be successfull.

Connect your device to the PC and start the program.
The easiest is to downlaod the "History" from your device. So acitvate "History"
and look for the following button in the icon bar:

The software starts the download immediately

Afterwads you will find all your activities in the left window.
. To choose the track you whish to upload click on "Running" next on the week and then on the day of the activity.

Right click with your mouse-button on the date of your workout and choose "Create track from activity"

A new window appears. In the left view you can see your new generated track.
Make sure you just have one track in your view or delete all the other tracks. Don't worry, your data will not be deleted. You can create any time a track from your activities again.

Right click on the track and choose "Export [name of track]"

The well known "Save as"-dialog will appear. Choose a meaningfull name of the tack and save it to a folder of your choice.

The latest version of the Garmin TC allows to export a track directly. Click on activities with your right mouse button and choose "Export\[name\date of activity]".
Save the file into a folder. You can upload it now to RunMyTrack.com

That's it! Now browse to Uploadand upload this track to your existing ones on the web.
